Hey Guys,
It’s a cold morning here in Florida and I’m loving it! I miss winter in NY and look forward to any chance I get to wear boots and a comfy sweater. 🙂 This holiday look I am showing can be transitioned for colder weather too, simply add tights, booties, and a pashmina and you are all set!
I think an elegant dress for the holidays is always a classic look. I originally purchased this dress for a wedding josh and I had in October and last minute changed my mind, however, I do think this is a great wedding dress, too!
velvet slip dress, or Asos silver pleated dress, or green velvet Target, or lace midi Nordstrom
Above are links to similar dresses that I love for the holidays that are all affordable. I got my dress from Abercrombie during their last 50% off sale and this exact one is no longer available.
When you have a simple dress like this, I always like to add a statement earring to help create more dimension (more of a completed look). Sure, simple stud earring will work too, but I love a statement earring- especially for the holidays. Here are two similar options to the earring I am wearing… teal earrings or navy earrings
You can pair this dress with black heels and it will still look great. I chose nude because I wanted a chunkier heel and I did not want my show to be a focus. My pair are older Steve Madden, but I linked similar pairs here: blush velvet block heels or nude leather heel.
Most people feel you need to have a clutch when styling this dress, but I like to add a crossbody that has some metal to it. This particular crossbody is by All Saints in bronze, but I found a more affordable option in gold that I think would look great with this look as well.
Adding a dark lip color really completes the look. I love to be bold with lip colors and feel a Bordeaux color like the one I am wearing here (by Clinique in grandest grape) helps add the finishing touch to this look. I wish I could braid ’cause a beautiful fish tail braid would add a lot to this look.
Happy holiday parties and good luck with all the holiday shopping!
ps,
dani
