Summer stripes…

TGIF!!! Looking forward to a relaxing weekend with family. Sometimes I find that a weekend at home is much needed. I spent last weekend going out with friends and exploring the new Dal Mar hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. Man was I impressed. It is stunning!

This is the bathroom in their yummy terrace grill restaurant. It was beautiful… and my dress matched the wallpaper. Score!! This dress is super comfortable and affordable. It would be perfect for Easter, too!

I’ve linked the Dress

What are you guys doing this holiday weekend??

Summer shorts and a pop of color…

TGIF!! I have to admit I drafted this blogpost on Monday with every intention of getting it up and then… life. We have our good friends Jen and Erica wedding in the keys this weekend and I’ve been running like crazy getting everything ready. I’ll admit I still haven’t narrowed down my welcome party outfit 😵.

I wore this outfit last weekend when josh and I saw Kevin Hart standup. I’ve wanted to see him live so many times it just never worked out, until josh surprised me with 2 tickets! If you love laughing until you pee your pants I highly recommend seeing him live!!

I scored these awesome hot pink linen shorts on sale at Ann Taylor. They are on super sale for $29 plus 40% off. Hurry up and snag a pair before they all sell out. I’ve linked them here. These shorts have a ruffle trim on the pockets that you can’t really see in the picture, but add the sweetest detail!

My black lace trim camisole is also from Ann Taylor. It’s silk and super comfortable. Great to wear alone or for layering. My exact cami is sold out but I found one here and a less expensive one from Target (duh) and linked it here.

My wedges are Steve Madden from DSW. I’ve linked them here. DSW is having a crazy sale $10,$20, or $60 off depending on how much you spend with code forthefam! They are on sale for under $40 I’ve linked them here for you. They come in brown too and are super comfy!!

My purse is by free people. It’s from months ago and no longer available but found one similar here and here. Both from Target and under $40!!

My fedora is older but I found a similar one at a great price for you here. Also from Target and only $14.99 (confession I just bought it in white because mine was getting dingy) lol!!

Enjoy the weekend my loves and as always happy shopping!

Summer romper…

Happy Saturday friends,

We were rehearsal dinner venue hunting today, and had a successful day of wedding planning!

This awesome romper is on super sale at American Eagle. It’s under $25. I bough this color and the blue!!

The tie back detail on this romper makes it comfortable. You can keep it tight or looser for a casual flow.

Walking our dog is one of my favorite things to do, so I figured why not snap a couple pics before we get ready for the nights festivities! Tonight we’re going to Crystal by Cirque de Solie and I’m so excited. Josh has never been so when he surprised me with tickets for tonight I was pumped!!

You can see Doak’s spot where he had to have staples is healing and the hair is finally growing back over. His little patch doesn’t even seem to bother him. He was such a trooper through the whole thing!!

Hurry up and shop this romper before they’re all sold out. A deal like this, they won’t last long.

Summer dress love…

I’m sure you guys are aware it’s the Nordstrom anniversary sale… I made the mistake of NOT purchasing what I wanted during presale and now all of what I wanted sold out 😢. I did manage to grab another pair of Spanx faux leather leggings tho! Although this dress is not part of the sale, it’s super affordable and fully in stock!

Summer dresses and straw bags are everything this summer. This dress is a favorite of mine and I know it’s a popular one. It comes in a ton of colors, can be work appropriate and is super comfy!

I love the ruching on the sides to help hide any imperfections. I’ll admit, I’ve been wearing this dress on repeat; currently wearing it with a long cardigan at work!

This straw bag I got last summer at Target and it’s great, but no longer available. Zipper closure makes it easy for beach, or summer travel. I use it as my daily tote on some days. I found a similar one at Gap for only $24!

My sandals were part of my favorites round up last week and are still my go to summer sandal!!

Happy shopping friends!

Miami Swim Week…

Let me start by saying my swimsuit obsession runs deep. I always use the “I live in FL” excuse for buying a ton of swimsuits each summer, but honestly it’s just because they’re fun and in my opinion you can never have too many. Swimsuits for me go with my mood… and I think there’s a different suit for different occasions.

I was fortunate to attend a couple shows during swim week and I made a highlight of my favorites and wanted to share them here with you!

Akosha is a designer I haven’t seen before based out of Ft. Lauderdale and handmade in Miami. The suits were fun, playful, and sexy. They don’t offer too many on sale, but the fun flamingo one piece is available and under $200.

Another great designer is Paramidonna

I really loved the color blocking black and white suit and the subtle details of the ruffles on the suits. I love that high waisted are on trend right now. Paramidonna offered a couple high waisted options.

And now for my absolute favorite…

I’ve loved Ali’s designs since she was making them and selling out of her apartment . I knew they’d be all the rage. She uses great patters and high quality fabric! Montce brings versatile style to swim wear. High waisted, crop top, one piece, ruffles, and extra cheeky!! The suits are always sexy, but in a classy way.

You can find fun accessories including kimonos, jewelry, and fun beach wear. There are two locations one in ft. Lauderdale and another in LA. If you don’t live close don’t worry, all suits are available online!!

I can’t wait to pick up some new suits before the summers end!

Anyone in the Ft. Lauderdale area interested in help picking out some suits at Montce I’d be happy to meet you at the shop for personal shopping assistance!!

A leather skirt never hurt nobody…

Man oh man… the weather here in Florida is confusing. It’s hot 80 degrees one moment them “cold” 55 degrees the next. I can’t seem to get it. One thing I do know, a cute leather skirt (mini or not) is the perfect item for either temperature this winter season.

Let me start by saying I firmly believe every woman should have a leather skirt in their wardrobe. I scored this beauty from All Saints, about two years ago and I love it. I do believe that if you splurge a little on a piece like this it’s worth it. Mine still looks new after many wears!

I found another great option from JCrew and linked it for you. It’s under $100 and is a pleated midi skirt. I’ve been eying it for a while 😉.

My top was featured on the blog in a previous post and is a great Target find. It’s part of their A New Day lime and I’m loving everything they have. Plus it’s a steal for under $25! I’ve linked it for you here.

untitled-5486These peep toe booties are also older but don’t you worry, I found a similar affordable pair for you from DSW and linked them for you here! I actually like this pair I linked better cause of the studded detailing… so cute.

The great think about a leather skirt is you can dress it up, make it causal with a simple tee, wear a sweater, throw on some tights, wear with heels, over the knee boots, or some sneakers and you will look great! It’s all about setting the vibe for the look you are going for! Stay tuned this leather skirt will be featured again!

As always… happy shopping friends!

The little black dress…

There’s something so simple yet classic about a basic black dress. For this post I wanted to share a versatile black dress by Blaque Label from lilac and lilies boutique.

This dress can be worn for many different occasions, from holiday parties, work to happy hour, date night, and more. There’s a no fuss necessary vibe when you wear a LBd dress.

I typically throw my hair up in a top know with a strapping heel or a classic pump and call it a day! My heels are from Steve Madden but are a couple years old. I found a similar pair under $80 from Nordstrom and linked them Here.

I love the back detail on this dress. The sleeves are draped (kind-of caped) which gives it a vintage feel and there’s just enough peak of the back to add a sexy touch without going over board. Still work appropriate. 😉

For me, the pockets are a bonus. I don’t know about you but this girl can’t get enough of dresses with pockets. Funny thing is, I never even use the pocket. All well, still love the detail.

Choosing the perfect LBD can be easy and let’s be honest, you can’t just have one. Here are some other great and affordable LBD:

Fall Feels… With Olive & Oak

Hey guys!

I am so happy it’s Friday. Josh and I are heading to Sarasota to celebrate Halloween with my nieces. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, I can’t wait to share our costumes with you this year!

Let’s talk about this look. Florida is finally getting some cooler weather and I am all about this sweater. It’s by Olive & Oak and  is from

I love denim on denim. I think it’s an easy way to play with different washes and textures.  This studded BlankNYC jacket has been on the blog before and I can’t get enough of it!

I love that this sweater is a tank. It’s perfect for layering and even better when temperatures fluctuate. The side tie accent detail adds a fun way for mid-rise denim to be exposed. These jeans are also by BlankNYC (yes they make the best denim).

My boots are on repeat this fall. Did you catch them in previous posts? They’re by Chinese Laudry the Kristin Cavallari collection. I scored mine during the Nordstrom sale. My necklace is by Kendra Scott. This is the perfect pumpkin patch outfit! You can shop my entire look at

Heres hoping for a continued cold front!

Style on a Budget… Floral Jumpsuit

I am so excited to share this amazing jumpsuit with you all. As some of you may know I can’t get enough of the ease of rompers and jumpers. I wear them on repeat during summertime. This one will not disappoint.

Okay so here’s the details, it’s from Target (Duh) and it’s only $29.99, but the best part is right now Target is doing a promo for buy 1 get 1 50% off.  I’ve linked it for you below. This jumpsuit has a built in bra so it’s really worry-free. It runs TTS, I’m 5’8  wearing a small and the length works well for me!

For this look, I have worn it casually with some great flip flops, a crossbody bag, hat and a braid. I’ve also worn it with wedges dressed up for an engagement party. I have gotten so many compliments on this look.

The purse is an older French Connection bag I got years ago and is my go to black crossbody.

Taking the first step…

(disclaimer: this will be my longest post… just had a lot to say to kick things off!)

I’ve decided to start this blog after I’ve told myself for the past year “I CAN’T do it.” It’s funny how often we tell ourselves that, when in reality, we CAN! Growing up my Mom always told me about the importance of journaling. I would see her take her journal out at night, write for a couple minutes, say her prayers, and then kiss me goodnight. When I was little my journal consisted of pictures I would draw and lists of things I wanted with the hopes that my Mom would sneak read my journal and buy me everything on my “I hope I get… list.”

Joke was on me… I never got anything off that list. In college, I studied psychology and my mentor (and favorite professor) told me journaling is pretty much crap. He said, “why write down things you could say out loud?” …And at those words, I gave up journaling. It wasn’t until life got hard and I felt lost that I started journaling again. And this time I REALLY journaled. It was helpful and I enjoyed it, but it still wasn’t enough. Then blogs came to be! I have to admit, I didn’t understand the purpose of blogging at first until I started reading some blogs that really inspired me – it was then that I realized this is the “say it out loud” my professor meant. Why write down my feelings if they’re not going to be heard?!

Which brings me to today and my start of preserve street. I admit my turning 30 in January did a doozy on my psyche. My Type A personality took over and so I began writing my vision for life in my thirties. Everything from fashion, health & fitness, travel, and the everyday girl (woman) “stuff.”

So in an effort to preserve my true ME into my thirties… preserve street came to be. My manfriend and I purchased a home on Preserve Street about a year ago and I think the play on words is beneficial in giving my readers (if I get someone outside of friends and family to read) the concept I’m looking for. I want to create a community where we can come together and talk about the everyday stuff. Let’s share life hacks, fashion tips and all that in between … I’m adult enough to say I can’t ADULT alone. 😉

Working in the mental health field I often feel like I’m the CRAZY one; so in an effort to keep my sanity, let’s give this blog thing a whirl. Get ready I have lots to share with you and hope you can find solace in becoming part of the preserve street community.

Girls, stay positive and let’s smile through our 30’s and beyond. After all, everyone keeps telling me this is supposed to be the time of my life….
