Friday Favorites 8.18

Happy Friyay!

It’s Friday favorites here at preserve street and I rounded up some goodies for you all. Click on the title to link to the items. Again this is not a sponsored post and I am not earning anything from sharing these links!

1. Free People Tote: Let me start by saying I get more compliments on this bag than any other I own. I’ve been a fan of Free People for as long as I can remember. They are the masters of bohemian chic, comfy yet put together, and lace love! Once I learned they mastered handbags I was jumping for joy! This bag is only $68, comes in lots of colors, and the best part- it’s reversible. It’s like you get 2 bags for the price of one. I’ve had mine for a couple years now so my color combo (tan and hunter green) is no longer available, but there are so many beautiful new choices I’m considering getting another! It comes with a makeup pouch and a computer sleeve too. Helps keep you organized. I can go on and on, but the point is this is a handbag favorite!

2. Living Proof Volume Spray: I received this from a friend to try and let me tell you I have been so impressed with the results I’ve gotten from it. I ordered the full-size product. This volume spray is light weight and helps me get the voluminous curls or beach waves I want. It smells wonderful and doesn’t leave a product feeling in my hair. I think it helps hold my curl longer too!

3. Pinch Emergency Kit: If you all have not seen these they are SOOO cool. They are cute little pouches full of everyday items you might need. They’re small and compact so easy to throw in your purse so you will have anything you need for any occasion. I purchased the “work it out” essentials which are for the on the go gym goer. Let me tell you I reached for my emergency ear buds just yesterday when I decided to have an impromptu gym sesh mid-day! I’ve linked the “secretly a mermaid” kit which is full of summer essentials. Bloomingdales has lots of options and I’ve seen these at many other stores including Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Sephora and Francesca’s. I plan to get a couple and leave them in random bags so I can always be prepared. Best part they’re under $25 and you can often find them on sale!

4. Grace and Frankie: Keeping up with tradition I’m sharing a TV fave from Netflix. It stars  Jane Fonda  and Lily Tomlin and they’re hysterical. There have been 4 seasons and it’s an easy binge. Beware you can get caught for hours and your stomach will hurt from laughing so hard. I don’t want to give away any details so check it out for yourself. Cheers to a Netflix and chill kind of weekend!

Let me know some of your faves and as always, sign up to follow by entering your email to never miss a post!

Style on a Budget… Maxi Skirt

Hey Guys!

I’m talking all about maxi skirts for this weeks style on a budget post. I love a good maxi skirt and think they are easy to wear and style for many different occasions. Here I show a casual look- great for summer or for my fellow Floridians, all year long!

Target maxi

Above is the link to the current skirt, this one is from last season so it’s not exact, but close. It comes in black or heather gray stripe. Best part, it’s only $20!!

I’ve paired it with my favorite basic. My Target tank. These tanks come in a variety of colors and run big. So size down. I am wearing an XS and still can knot it. I love knotting a shirt or tank to give it more of a complete look. I also feel it helps create a better waist line when wearing a long maxi skirt. Don’t wanna lose those curves, girl!

My complete look includes a cobalt blue bucket bag by Vince Camuto. I scored the one pictured 2 years ago at the Nordstrom sale, but found a similar one here… and its on sale! Vince Camuto bucket bag

I’m keeping it casual with Vince Camuto flip flops which are also on sale! Under $20. And if you haven’t caught on by now, I’m usually wearing some sort of hat. This one Josh bought me a while ago but I found an exact match, super affordable Target panama fedora. My sunnies are Ray Bans from a while ago, also a gift. I found some cute Target tortoise sunglasses for only $12.99.

Hope you enjoy this look. Let me know what you think!

Friday Favorites 8.11

Hi friends,

It’s that time of week, Friday Favorites lineup! I’m starting to really love coming up with my favorites for the week to share with you all and I hope you’re loving it too! How was everyone’s week? We had a jam packed week with my little bro and sis visiting with us… gave us time to explore and play tour guide of our own city. So fun!

1. A weekly planner: I cannot explain how lost I would be without a weekly planner. I notice I buy one that gives plenty of space to write everything down. I’m the kind of person if I don’t write it down I won’t remember it. Look forward to my helpful ways to stay organized and conquer your week post, coming soon. This agenda is a favorite, it’s only $10 and from Marshall’s. They have a ton there, but what I like about this best is the space allotted for daily entries. I bring this with me everywhere and suggest you get out there and get one too!

2. TJ’s Mochi coffee dessert: Let me start by saying WOW! These are little bites of heaven and under 100 calories each. For those of you that don’t have a Trader Joe’s close to you, I’m sorry. You are missing out 😦 These satisfy my sweet tooth without the guilt. Check ’em out… you’ll be addicted too!

3. Younger on TV land: In keeping with a theme of weekly TV show faves I wanted to share with you all Younger. It’s a TV land show (which I would’ve never found if it wasn’t for my awesome sister in law- thanks Stef!) and it’s only in season 4. It comes on every Wednesdays at 10 PM. Its only 30 mins long and I love every second of it. It’s about a 40-year-old mom who heads back to the city after her divorce and reinvents herself as a 20 something. It’s light, funny, romantic, and has the best fashion. Plus at only 30 mins with 4 seasons it’s a quick one to get through. Check it out and let me know what you think!

4. Gingham and Peplum: For my last favorite I had to share this adorable Gingham peplum tank. I scored this one at TJ Maxx for under $15. I love gingham and I’m digging peplum this summer (if you couldn’t tell) so with two favorite styles in one I had to share. I realize everyone doesn’t have the same things at TJ Maxx but I have seen a TON of gingham trends there and always on budget.

Style on a Budget… Floral Jumpsuit

I am so excited to share this amazing jumpsuit with you all. As some of you may know I can’t get enough of the ease of rompers and jumpers. I wear them on repeat during summertime. This one will not disappoint.

Okay so here’s the details, it’s from Target (Duh) and it’s only $29.99, but the best part is right now Target is doing a promo for buy 1 get 1 50% off.  I’ve linked it for you below. This jumpsuit has a built in bra so it’s really worry-free. It runs TTS, I’m 5’8  wearing a small and the length works well for me!

For this look, I have worn it casually with some great flip flops, a crossbody bag, hat and a braid. I’ve also worn it with wedges dressed up for an engagement party. I have gotten so many compliments on this look.

The purse is an older French Connection bag I got years ago and is my go to black crossbody.

Friday Favorites 8.4

Happy Friday peeps!!! I’ve rounded up my favorites for this week and I’m so excited to share them with you.

1.  Bloomingdale’s frozen yogurt: Ok, as many of you have seen on my IG or Facebook my obsession for Bloomie’s frozen yogurt has been long and strong for YEARS. Let me explain why. It’s fat-free and has the best texture and creaminess of any frozen yogurt I have ever had, and my favorite part only one flavor a day. That’s right you have the choice of plain original frozen yogurt swirled with whatever the flavor of the day may be. My favorites are strawberry, coffee, and of course chocolate. Go treat yourself… you deserve it. The top floor of any Bloomingdale’s at their Forty Carrots Cafe!!

2.  Animal Kingdom on TNT:  As I think about my weekly favorites I want to share with you guys shows I am watching. This is currently on the air and season 2.  Now let me make it clear it’s not for those that can’t handle some action and definitely not family friendly. I can’t believe how much nudity and sexual content they can show on cable TV! But despite that, it’s really a great show. Suspenseful and worth watching. Some people say it’s  the surfer version of Sons of Anarchy ( I have never seen sons of anarchy so I can’t confirm that), but I look forward to it every Tuesday night! Set your DVR’s and give it a try.

3. Nordstrom Anniversary Sale favorites: I am sure you guys have seen, heard, and are sick of the Nsale advertising so let me start by saying, I’m not sponsored or endorsed to post about any of this. I truly think the Nsale is the BEST sale all year. Designers give great prices of things that typically I can’t afford the rest of the year. Some are still a splurge, but when compared to the original price the savings are unreal. Most importantly there are only 3 days left to shop. Sale ends August 6! Hurry up and grab what is left… and be prepared to shop the sale with me earlier next year!!

tb floral espadrilles

Tory Burch espadrilles. I have a pair already and love them. I wear them all the time. They do stretch out a bit but not bad so purchase true to size and if they’re a little tight, they’ll loosen up.

TB flats

Tory Burch Claire Ballerina Flat. I have been eying these for a while and couldn’t wait for them to go on sale. I purchased an 8 but needed to exchange for an 8.5. These are an amazing classic flat great for work and polished weekend looks. They have them in 3 colors and it took all of my restraint to not purchase the gold as well. I stuck with the black because everyone needs a classic black flat in their closet 😉

ASTR the Label satin ruffle romper. Guys this may be a top purchase. for me. It was under $50 and is so comfortable and fits great. I ordered a small and it’s TTS. It is flowy, flattering and looks great. Not to mention a good length for shorts. Awesome for summer and transitional into Fall. For those of my fellow Floridiansans its great all year round. You will see this up on the blog as a post soon so get ready!!

Clinique chubby sticks have been in my makeup bag for a while so when I saw this mini sampler kit I couldn’t say no. There are 6 wonderful colors. I’ve worn each one and honestly like them all! At only $25 they are a steal. They are smooth and light, have a great shine and the color lasts!! I couldn’t be happier with this kit.

BP cold shoulder button down shirt. This one I was wary about, but when I saw it in person and got to try it on for myself it confirmed my love. I am really into cold shoulder anything lately and I know the trend may not last long but at only $29.90 it’s worth it. The shirt is cotton and runs TTS. I ordered a small and its loose and fits great. They have it in gray too I just felt I could do more with the white!

That’s the round up for the week. I know it was very Nsale based, but with the sale ending, I wanted to show you guys all my faves while they were still available. Hope you enjoyed the post! Let me know what are your favorites for the week?! Happy Friday loves!

Style on a Budget Summer Shorts…

target shorts

These shorts have been on repeat this summer and I have purchased them in many colors. They are comfortable and at 5″ inseam they are an appropriate length. Can’t be repping those booty shorts anymore 😉 For those of you that are more petite and can afford to show off more leg, they have them in 3″ also! Don’t worry I got you covered!

I paired them with this yellow tank, also from Target. But they look great with a chambray shirt, white tee, or even navy!

Check ’em out…Cheers to styling on a budget!

Friday Favorites 7. 28

Hey guys,

I’ve decided to start a weekly favorites post to share with you things I’m crushing on this week. I think it will be a fun way for us to share products, fashion, and local activities together.  Some things you may have seen in previous posts, on my IG or my FB. These are things I want to highlight for the week, some of them have never been in a post. The point being, I’d love for you to comment and share your favorite things as well!

1.) TARGET JUMPER  –> Yes I am still obsessed with this jumpsuit/romper I can live in it. If you missed it on the blog I posted it for my Style on a Budget series. It’s from Target and only $30. The material is great and this summer I have been living in rompers, they’re just too easy and help keep cool!

2.) BREW DR. KOMBUCHA –> If any of you follow along on IG you have seen me post about Kombucha. I love it. I try to drink a bottle a day. It gives me a boost of energy, has a ton of health properties and tastes delicious! A favorite brand of mine is Brew Dr. I get mine from Fresh Market and normally on sale 😉 They have many flavors. My go to lately has been clear mind. It’s a mix of green tea, rosemary, peppermint, sage, dandelion, and probiotics.

3.) Kristin Cavallari Laurel Peep Toe Booties –> I have been obsessing over these booties for a year and never got them. Then they were out of stock everywhere and now they are part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! I couldn’t have been happier to see the are only $99. They have 4 colors in stock: camel, gray, black, and nude. They are amazing and will be featured on a style post soon. They are a great transitional bootie, especially for us gals here in FL that get like a 2-week winter all year. I got them in the camel color and am honestly considering getting them in the nude color also (not kidding I love them)! I linked them below for you if you want to shop them yourselves. And ps, Nordstrom does free shipping ALWAYS!

4.) TV WEAKNESS: THE DEFIANT ONES –> OK, I’m prepared for the backlash for including TV in this list, but come on, who doesn’t love to binge watch some TV. And this show was amazing. It’s a 4 part documentary on HBO and it’s amazing. I cannot put into words how inspirational I found it. It’s all about the music industry and how Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine partnered up. I don’t want to give away too much, but whether you like rap music or not won’t matter, it’s great despite your music taste!

That’s it. Just a couple of my favorites for the week. I look forward to hearing about some of your favorites. Comment below 🙂
