A leather skirt never hurt nobody…

Man oh man… the weather here in Florida is confusing. It’s hot 80 degrees one moment them “cold” 55 degrees the next. I can’t seem to get it. One thing I do know, a cute leather skirt (mini or not) is the perfect item for either temperature this winter season.

Let me start by saying I firmly believe every woman should have a leather skirt in their wardrobe. I scored this beauty from All Saints, about two years ago and I love it. I do believe that if you splurge a little on a piece like this it’s worth it. Mine still looks new after many wears!

I found another great option from JCrew and linked it for you. It’s under $100 and is a pleated midi skirt. I’ve been eying it for a while ūüėČ.

My top was featured on the blog in a previous post and is a great Target find. It’s part of their A New Day lime and I’m loving everything they have. Plus it’s a steal for under $25! I’ve linked it for you here.

untitled-5486These peep toe booties are also older but don’t you worry, I found a similar affordable pair for you from DSW and linked them for you here! I actually like this pair I linked better cause of the studded detailing… so cute.

The great think about a leather skirt is you can dress it up, make it causal with a simple tee, wear a sweater, throw on some tights, wear with heels, over the knee boots, or some sneakers and you will look great! It’s all about setting the vibe for the look you are going for! Stay tuned this leather skirt will be featured again!

As always… happy shopping friends!

Wrap it up trench… another fun Amazon fashion look

Oh hey Tuesday! I’m sitting here watching Kelly & Ryan ( if you know me, you know my obsession with¬†Kelly Ripa runs deeeeep) and writing this post thinking about all the positive things that are to come. Today, I plan to tackle my closet and get stuff cleaned out as well as map out outfits for our engagement¬†shoot in two weeks. Maybe I have too much piled on for today, but worth a try.

Let’s talk about this look. For me, I love layering with vests, kimono’s, and pieces like this. I think that adding layers creates a more textured look. This vest is amazing and it was an Amazon find! This is a trench style vest that can be worn many ways. I’ve linked it for you here.¬†It’s only¬†$15.99 and is available for Prime!

For today’s look, I decided to stick with winter whites. I’m wearing Loft basic whiten denim, linked here. Loft is doing an extra 60% off sale and these jeans are currently on sale! Hurry up and order, they sell out fast. They’re available in curvy and modern, both skinny cut!

This top is from Abercrombie. I love the V-neck cut on this one and its the softest cotton. A basic stripe tee is always great and workes well for pairing with pieces like this trench. This T is on sale for under $10. I plan on grabbing it in other colors too! Snag it here.

My booties are older but from DSW. They are crown vintage. A brand I was not familiar with until I started shopping at DSW and I love them. They are super comfortable and have worn well over the years. I’ve linked a similar pair here, they’re under 70$.

I kept it simple with accessories. I’m¬†wearing a diamond¬†ear climber earring and a gold bauble bar T pendant necklace. Persol sunnies that I’m obsessed with (they are linked in previous post, Style on a Budget with Amazon‚Ķ)!

Happy shopping friends! Stay productive peeps and share what you think of layering pieces like this!

2018… Resolutions or Not

Real Talk… I continue to hear the phrase “new year new me” and to be honest with you I hate that phrase. Why does it need to be a “new you?” Why can’t it be same person just happier? I often find that I struggle with setting New Years resolutions then feel defeated at the end of the year if they’re not achieved. Don’t get me wrong, I think goal setting is imperative for self improvement, but this concept of a resolution just for a new year has too much of a weighted stigma.

I’m going to be real with you… the first week of January I didn’t work out, I ate unhealthy and too much, drank more alcohol than usual, and did not focus on productivity. I took the week off from blogging cause I was feeling “where is this going…”

In therapy I practice with my clients how to set SMART goals (goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time oriented). In my opinion this is a great way to set goals. I work with them on how to stay motivated and how to achieve. I continuously help others to be their best self, but honestly this past month or so I wasn’t helping myself. So for this new year I am not setting a resolution but instead I’m setting a goal to be the happiest self I can be.

For me being happy encompasses being healthy, feeling accomplished, staying active and motivated, giving love and time to my family/friends, and for this year planning a damn wedding!

So that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to set my goal for a happy 2018 and work each day to make it happen. Today started with this post… tomorrow cleaning out my closet. ūüėČ

Do any of you ever feel this way? Who else is dragging their feet on getting started for 2018?

NYE, cocktail parties, and a lace dress…

I originally thought this post went up last week, but some how it seemed to get deleted. So I apologize for the short post, just wanted to get this look out to you guys before New Years!

This lace dress is available at liliac and lilies boutique. I love the nude slip underneath, it really makes the lace stand out. For those that aren’t local I have linked some similar styles below.

Target lace shift dress

Nordstrom lace dress

Bloomingdales lace

Amazon lace off the shoulder

A lace dress is great for many occasions. This look would look great with dark tights and pointed pumps for a dressier occasion or even a work event!

As always… Happy shopping.

Friday Favorites… Final of 2017

Happy Friday!!!

I can’t believe its the last Friday of the year, 2017 is over people! I always Take time to reflect on my year and think of all the amazing things that have happened. This was one heck of a year and I am thankful for its ups and its downs. This year I turned 30, started this blog, got engaged, my bff had her baby nugget, celebrated all the amazing people in my life and faced some challenges. All of which help me grow and give me a reason to look forward to 2018. Let me tell you… 2018 is gonna be a year to never forget!! Here’s some favorites I’m still crushing on and have been for a while.

BlankNYC jacket (link)

*This denim jacket is everything. Yes, it’s a splurge, but it’s worth every penny. I love it. It goes with everything and is a fun staple piece. Trust me it’s an item people won’t forget when they see it on.

bar set

whiskey set (link)

* I have loved decorating and re-decorating our bar cart. Its a focal point in our house and I particularly love incorporating fun glass pieces like this whiskey set. It’s on sale right now from Nordstrom and you have to grab it. There’s something about happy hours at home with Josh that I’ve grown to love, but of course can’t use some *regular* glass…. I want it to feel special so we use sets like these. I find some great stuff for the bar cart at Homegoods too!

Beverage Dispenser (link)

*A beverage dispenser was on my list for a while so I was happy when we finally got some. A favorite for us to use it is to infuse different alcohols for holiday parties. Our family loves Jameson infused with bananas. Trust me it makes the whiskey taste like bananas foster dissert. It’s so good you can’t even tell your drinking alcohol (its dangerous, drink responsibly)! It’s fun to come up with different creations and share with family and friends. Has definitely been a great hosting gift too!

water bottle

glass water bottle (link)

*Let me start by saying this year has been my year to eliminate plastic from my life. I’m still working on it, but the one thing I have been strict with is my water bottles. I only use glass bottles, and this one on sale from Nordstrom is great! I love the round top and think it looks fancy. I don’t know why but I have a thing for fancy drink ware.

Not Your Mother’s blonde shampoo¬†(link)

*This shampoo smells amazing and works great. Its budget friendly for under $9 and is the best! I use it to help maintain my blonde highlights. I had never heard of purple shampoo until this year and then once I started using it I found the topic came up a lot amongst my friends. Now, I have every HOOKED! I get mine from Target, but it’s available at a lot of places.

Dior Lip Glow (link)

*Okay, My Aunt Anne introduces me and my sister in law to this lip stick and I cannot explain to you how obsessed with it I am. It adds moisture with a very subtle bit of color to your lips and it is worth every cent! Yes it’s a splurge, but I have seen a big difference in my lips since I’ve been using it. I apply it every day… multiple times a day and have noticed how much better my lips have gotten. They are not fry and never have that chapped look. It’s available at all department stores, I linked mine from Nordstrom where I typically purchase it.

cook book (link)

*This skinny taste cookbook has been a go to for me all year. I really took the initiative to cook a minimum of 3 nights a week. I am extremely fortunate that my mother in law cooks family dinner every Wednesday and Sunday so that leaves just a couple nights that I need to prepare for. If you are ever lucky enough to have a mother in law like mine (seriously a saint) make sure she knows it! I often search skinny taste recipes online (there are a ton for free plus she links the weekly meal planner). There’s lots of options offered and her site is user friendly. I like the cook book too because it has healthier recipes not featured on her site and sometimes I just want an actual book.¬† http://www.skinnytaste.com

Easy breezy with a romper obsession…

While it’s winter everywhere else,¬† here in south Florida its still about 85 degrees. That calls for easy looks that are weather appropriate. I am obsessed with this romper by Elan available at lilac and lilies boutique.¬† It’s also available in other colors from Nordstrom and I’ve found an identical match under $40 from Target¬†(only available in black).

I decided to add a leather wrap around belt to create some dimension. Here’s a link to one very similar from Amazon, it’s available in a ton of colors and style mostly under $15.

I love a good straw hat for beach days, going out to lunch with friends, brunching, or any other time you wanna keep the sun out of your face Here’s a similar hat from Target¬†and its under $15.

Whenever I do off the shoulder I try and pair it with a statement necklace.¬† This particular necklace is by Kendra Scott and is a bit pricier. I’ve linked it here and here’s one by Bauble Bar available at Nordstrom. Here’s another crystal bib available at DSW, and here’s a fun one from Target..

This is a great look for going on vacation too! How many of you have a tripped planned to a tropical paradise and don’t know what to pack? Let me know… I’m here to help!

Can we talk about how cool this car is?¬†While at Ft.Lauderdalee¬†beach shooting this look I saw this amazing car pull up and asked the owner if he wouldn’t mind me taking a picture next to it. He said, “I’ll give ya better, hop in and take all the pictures ya want!” It was pretty fun and I’m happy to have seen something¬†so different. Made me feel like I was in the movie Grease (please say you see the resemblance)!

Happy Romper Wearing

Keepin it cool in Ft. Lauderdale…

Let’s talk “winter” fashion while living in south Florida when its 86 degrees¬†in December… it doesn’t¬†happen. We do our best to wear what we can but let’s be honest, I’m not going to put on my cute over the knee boots and sweater when the sun is shining bright¬†and the sweat is happening.¬† Soooo trying to think of ways to have an all year look is what I’m working on.

My whole look is available¬†at¬†lilac and lilies boutique, but don’t worry I’ve linked others.

Studded denim¬†is go-to for me. I feel like it takes a classic jeans¬† & T-shirt look and amps it up to another level. The 5th grade bedazzler¬†in me is sooooo¬†happy this trend is making a come back. These jeans are by BlankNYC (my all time fave) and are linked directly here.¬† I’ve found some other affordable options too!

Macy’s use code JOY for extra 20% off

H&M under $60

I went with a longer cropped¬†bell sleeve top that I love (and you will see a lot)! Its available at¬†lilac and lilies boutique, but you can also get it here (Lulus under $60)¬†also at Nordstrom¬†and similar here (Target under $15)!¬†It’s by Lost + Wander and is super comfy and not too thin. I’m wearing a small for reference.

My loafers are Franco Sarto and have been on the blog before. They’re¬†great and can be worn with slacks for work, a skirt, denim like¬†this or even cute with shorts!

They’re¬†from DSW and under $50, I’ve linked them here. Here’s a similar pair¬†from Target (under $20)!

And I’ve found similar rancher Hat’s… here and here.

Is anyone else super excited that studded and embroidered denim is trending?!

I look forward to wearing studded denim in other ways and can’t wait to bring you guys more looks.

Stay Warm…
