This navy midi skirt is a must. I was scrolling through insta the other day when a forever 21 add popped up… I was going to pass it by thinking I had outgrown the store but man am I happy this skirt caught my eye. It’s part of there contemporary line. So many amazing affordable pieces. I’ve linked my skirt and shirt below… best part this whole look is under $30 on sale!
Pleated Polka Dot Skirt
Double Strap Cami
I love the flow of this skirt. Flattering for any body type and a versatile piece. You can add a white blazer and nude pumps and head to work (great for drinks after), wear how. I’ve shown it for a wedding festivity, throw on a graphic tee and sneaks for a fun casual look, or flats and a denim jacket with cotton tank for a lunch meet up. The options are endless!
I decided to go classic and vintage with some pearl bracelets and a big pair of navy shades! I’ve linked my bracelet below (I’m wearing 2 and a thinner one) and similar sunnies!
If you haven’t gotten into the midi skirt trend… there’s no time better to start then now! And if you’ve given up in forever21 give their site another look. I ordered a bulk order got a ton of great looks for under $200!! Don’t worry I’ll share them all here on the blog 😉.
Happy almost Friday!
Peeps, I got the most amazing “style on a budget” look for you today! I saw this awesome skirt on a fellow blogger babes IG, check her out, I’m digging her page (especially if you’re a new mama), Midtown Magnolia. The first look is a work-friendly look. All from Target, duh! I decided to tie up the bouse because it wasn’t sitting well on me tucked in. I think depending on your body style and preference try it tucked in or tied.
This blouse is part of the A New Day line that I have been talking about nonstop. It’s on major clearance with limited availability so shop it fast!! crepe utility blouse <– link
I decided to step away from the feminine work style and show you how this could be a casual look (also work friendly) but warmer for our winter weather. Throw on a fun chunky cable knit sweater (black, gray, white, cream, or navy) any color would work and some chunky boots!
My sweater is much older from the Loft, but don’t worry got a budget-friendly one here for you from H&M!
I also wanted to style the skirt for a night out. Those girls in colder climates, throw on a leather jacket to keep this look going. I love a good bodysuit and this one is an oldie but a goodie. Its open back adds a nice touch. I’ve worn this for so many different occasions, from rehearsal dinners, date night, even work with a blazer! My exact bodysuit is no longer available but I’ve linked a similar one here.
My booties are from DSW for under $60…I’ve linked them here. Spend $39 and get a free weekender tote!
My block heels are older and I’ve linked them to a previous post here.
Glasses are Henri Bendel – no longer available.
Do you guys like the 1 piece 3 ways post? I’ve been thinking it’s something I can do more often. I usually wear the same item multiple ways to recycle more from my closet without getting bored. For example, I wore this skirt with a denim button down and chucks the other day for a lunch meeting and felt like I was wearing a whole new skirt.
It’s almost the weekend and boy am I looking forward to Christmas. We’ve been shopping, planning, organizing, and prepping not only for Christmas but also New Years. Not to mention throw in engagement stuff, this girl needs a break. Luckily, I found myself on the couch for two hours yesterday (not being productive at all) watching an SVU marathon. Yes, I have seen EVERY episode, and yes I can watch each one a million times. Elliot Stabler you are perfection 😉 !! Check out this quick holiday look.
I love a good pleated skirt… especially around this time of year! They’re flattering for all shapes and sizes! You can dress them up or down depending on your shoes and accessories. I’d even love this skirt with a tall black boot. This look is available at lilac and lilies boutique. For me, I typically like to pair a midi skirt with a bodysuit, gives it that polished look. Similar body suit to this post is the one from this previous post, Holiday Look 1….
I found some similar skirts… all affordable and linked them for you below!
Nordstrom – silver midi skirt
H&M pleated midi skirt
Target pleated skirt
This skirt would look great with a cable knit sweater too. How about a white T and some converse?! Crazy, nope would look adorable. You will be seeing more pleated skirts and different ways to style them on the blog soon.
I’m still planning my holiday look… ugh this girl doesn’t do well with too many choices. lol!
Happy Prepping 🙂
